Products I Regret Buying #1

I enjoy shopping a lot and knowing myself I shop consistently. What ever I want I usually get just because I want it. A quarter of the time I think I'll love what I'm seeing but once I try it, not so much. And I usually love what I buy! But recently I just realized that I was a shopaholic.  I don't regret being one, one bit! And right now I want to show you a few beauty products that I regret buying hence the title!

Shall we begin? Because I'm going to put these products through the wringer! Oh, I also want to mention that some of these products are really old (few years) like I saved them for this post.

These are the body butters from the body shop. I bought these like a few years back so their like super duper old! I used to enjoy body butters so much and I've been hating them so much. I bought these two on a whim, the strawberry because it smelt so good and I don't even know why I bought the spiced vanilla. I only used them on my legs because my legs were super dry. What I found out about these body butters was the fact that they were too heavy for my skin. They would sit on top of my legs for hours! They wouldn't sink in so they left a disgusting film on my legs. And I always hated wearing pants or sweats over my legs while having the butters on them because they would stain my clothing with their scent. How annoying is that?! After a while they (the butters) actually started to irritate my skin and I began having rashes. And I stopped using body butters in general.

Body butters are just too heavy for my skin. I find that they never sink in right away. If I scraped my nails along my skin I would have the butters underneath the nail. Which grossed me out a ten fold. I'm also so sick of getting rashes from them. So I no longer buy any body butters and lotions. They aren't for me.

Ah Clean & Clear I haven't used anything from their line for...let's just say a long long time. Anyway, this is the morning burst in-shower facial. I bought this when allthatglitters21 mentioned it in her video years ago. Yeah, it was that long ago. I went out and purchased this, used it a few times in the shower and it was..okay. Its not mind blowing in any way, it is a drugstore product but that has nothing to do with anything. Obviously this product and an actual facial is completely different. It didn't make me want to consistently use it every week.

Oh ho ho Cetaphil! I don't know how dermatologists could recommend a product so bad. Sure it's a cold cream but if you want a good cold cream you can use Ponds. Oh but this isn't about other people, this is my opinion! I tried to buy the tiny size when I went to the drugstore but they didn't have it. So I had to buy this hulk of a product. I tried using it on my face but it gave me a rash..on my face! So I decided to use it on my legs and hands but that wasn't a good idea either. The cream irritated the skin on my hands and legs and it was horrible. Gave me those gory, bumpy, rash patches. It was disgusting!

Ah Josie Maran! I'm not saying that the Josie Maran brand is bad because it isn't! I love Josie Maran its just that this product didn't work out for me. They have three "color" selections fair/light, light medium/medium, and dark. What I wanted was the the fair/light but that color selection was sold out. So I had to get the light medium/medium which totally depresses me. Yes this totally evens out my skin tone but it also tans me out. I look two shades darker than my actual skin tone. But I am one color, but than I'm tan looking.  Also, when I look closely at my skin I see the actual product on my skin. I'm that girl that looks at herself with those 10x , 20x mirrors. I feel like they detect imperfection so much better.

And foundation is suppose to be undetectable. When you can actually see it that's a big no no! Since it's a serum foundation it feels so wet like it never really dries. When I take if off at the end of the day with a wipe for example I see orange. Like, I use fake tan orange. What the hell? This is one of the reasons why I hate foundations and I never use them.

I'm always on the look out for really awesome nail creams and nail strengtheners. Anything to get my nails to grow fast and strong. I finished Nail Envy from O.P.I and that was a really good one! Buy the original formula not the matte version! I wanted to try something new so I bought the Duri Cosmetics Rejuvacote and its decent. You wear it for seven days and then you take it off and then you do it all over again. It is very shiny, so when you use it as a top coat that's nice. When you take a hot shower the rejuvacote peels off so that is very frustrating. I don't like it enough to keep using it and I'm already on something new.

Next up is the lotion bar in tropical island from Sweet Creek Herbal Care! I enjoy a lot of their products like their foot balm (really good). I was in the mood for a bar lotion and since I already really enjoy Sweet Creek Herbal Care I decided to buy one from her. Oh and If I didn't really explain Sweet Creek Herbal Care, it's an etsy shop, products are made by Kathleen, and she's really nice. Anyway, the bar melted kind of weird and it didn't smoothly go down my body. It also didn't melt as much as I would've liked. Smelt really nice though but it just wasn't moisturizing enough.

The silver tube/bottle is a "serum" from Skin Perfection, it's a Super C Serum. First off, this isn't a serum, its more of a cream. Serums to me are in liquid form, if it looks like anything else, giant red flag. The super c serum made my skin feel heavy and it looked greasy which is very unappealing. I don't have oily skin so looking greasy makes me feel disgusted. Crap product.

Last product! and it's the Flex balsam & protein conditioner. This conditioner was actually recommended by my friend and she has great hair. She always dyed her hair and in multiple colors, and always so smooth and soft. We were shopping together and I asked her for some recommendations and she told me that this product is awesome. And if she loved it, I think I'll love love it too. And it did work for a while before it turned my hair into straw. I think it'll work better for people with super damaged hair. When your hair is in good condition protein will only turn your hair into straw. And that's what happened to me. First few times were totally amazing and then the times after that not so happy. So if you have damaged dry hair this is great for you but if you have fine and healthy hair stay away!
