I've been trying the Hydra Recharge System for a couple weeks now and I feel like I can tell you my thoughts. I have been using Garnier Frutis since I was a teenager and it brings back a lot of memories.
I know sulfate-free shampoos are the total craze right now..well longer than a while. I know for a fact that I don't need to throw away all my shampoos to replace them with sulfate free shampoos. When BzzAgent invited me to join their campaign I was quite excited since my hair was in need to moisture and it was super frizzy.
My Bzzkit included the following products:
- Hydra Recharge Fortifying Shampoo
- Hydra Recharge Fortifying Conditioner
- Hydra Recharge 1-minute moisture-plenish Treatment
Hydra Recharge Shampoo:
"Experience a powerful new blast of hydration. Hydra Recharge is the 1st shampoo with encapsulated beads of superfruits goji berry, passion fruit and kiwi. Hair is ultra-hydrated, weightlessly silkier and softer."
First, I want to mention how cool the shampoo looks, it's like a bubbly, jellified, fruit. Not a fruit exactly but what a fruit would look like if it was jellified. This is a great cleansing shampoo, it takes out all the dirt and grime from your scalp. I find the shampoo a bit too drying. Every time I washed my hair with this it left my hair deeply tangled. The ends of my hair turns into a tangled mess, I couldn't even run a wide tooth comb through it. Smells great, cleanses really well, but dries the crap out of my hair. That's why you must use the conditioner! I know it tangles my hair like crazy but there was a few times where I actually used the shampoo without the rest of the system. And it was a tangled mess but my hair was super clean and very soft.
Hydra Recharge Conditioner:
You would completely think that the conditioner and the treatment would be a white cream but it's actually a faint blue tinge. That has nothing to do with anything I just wanted to mention that. Anyway, after I shampooed my hair I wanted to hydrate my hair right away. I used a very generous amount and I spread it equally through out my hair. The conditioner detangles a tiny bit but it wasn't enough to actually free my ends from the giant mass of tangles.
Hydra Recharge 1-minute Moisture-plenish Treatment:
"Experience a powerful new blast of hydration. Hydra Recharge 1-Minute Moisture-Plenish Treatment's powerful yet lightweight crème-gel formula, with superfruits of goji berry, passion fruit and kiwi, delivers a surge of high-performance hydration in just 1 minute. Hair is ultra-hydrated, weightlessly silkier and softer."
I would have to say that the treatment worked a bit better than the conditioner. It works well at replenishing the moisture back into my hair. My Hair felt really light and soft, didn't weigh down my hair at all.
In Conclusion: I really enjoyed the system. I won't be repurchasing all of these products since I already have tons of shampoos and conditioners. I would, however, repurchase the 1-minute Moisture-Plenish Treatment since it detangles quite well. I find that the Hydra Recharge line really does live up to it's claims.
You can purchase these products at your local drugstore.
