Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review: April 2013

Okay, so I was on Hairenvy like a week or two ago and on the front page, they're always advertising whatever products that are new or whatever and I saw that they have the mystery bags back. The mystery bags from dermstore always fascinated me (like any new subscription) but I never actually bought one since all the products are relatively the same and they never really had really good reviews. Blush has these mystery boxes now and you can either go for the monthly or the one time purchase. I obviously went for the monthly. I want to see the difference in the products each month. I literally hope that I didn't get any expired products because I'll be totally disgusted and pissed. Each month you'll get a featured product and the rest would be travel and sample sized products. Which seems great and fascinating.

I actually signed up near the end of April so I thought that I'll be getting the May mystery box. I didn't get the May one, I actually received the April so I'm guessing that I'll be getting the May box next month. I'm a bit annoyed but at the same time I don't really care. So let's get started!

So the first product is the Tendu Treatment Mask, and it's the featured product for April. I'm actually really happy about this because I love my hair and I obviously want to treat it well. This is a full sized product and it retails for $60 which is dandy. The mask is supposed to boost shine, renew vibrancy, and deeply condition strands. I don't use any heat on my hair but sometimes my ends get pretty dry (no one likes straw-like hair). I love hair masks and I think I'm really going to like this.

Gah! The SkinMedica Ultra Sheer Moisturizer is a deluxe sample? Anyway I won't be using that product because there was no protective seal and that's gross. How would I know if someone contaminated the product or bacteria had somehow gone into the tube already? I won't know, that's the thing. All products should have that seal (well I'll feel more safe about using it). Next up I received the Paula Dorf Lip Liner in Sultry, it's a nude. Also a full size product and it retails for $20. Lip liners are great to wear alone or under a lipstick. I like using lip liners alone but in darker shades (like berries and blue reds), I don't like nude lips. In my opinion nude lips are totally groddy.

Next up, is thee Revaleskin Intense Recovery Treatment another full size product! and it retails for $130. Nice! I love serums, I really do. I currently cannot use any serums or facial oils because of the horrific Spring season (major allergies). This serum is suppose to repair and protect damaged and environmentally compromised skin while working to reduce redness and irritation. Doesn't that sound wonderful? I can't wait to use this in the fall and winter time. I've had many dry shampoos in the past but I never use them. I buy them but I ever only use them once or twice and then I just give them away. I don't need them (I don't have an oily scalp) and thank the lord for that! So the Batiste Dry Shampoo in original won't be touched. Unless I'm going camping and I won't be able to shower properly. That's the only thing I hate about camping, I'm very ocd about my hygiene routine (both oral and body).

I've used Senna products in the past and they were lovely but I forgot to take a picture of the Senna eye primer fortifying X or what ever it was called. It's white and in a small tube. The product looked literally old and cakey so I won't be letting that go anywhere on my face. The only place it will be going is the trash. last but not least is my free gift from blush and it is the blush brand eye shadow in azure. It is the most horrendous blue, looks like something Mimi would wear (Drew Carey Show, anyone?). I don't care for eye shadow in any form at all.

In Conclusion: I received over $200 worth of product which is great. I'm really excited for the Tendu treatment mask and the Revaleskin intense recovery treatment. The rest will go in either the trash or in a basket filled with other unused travel/sample sized items.
