What The Card Says: Simply the best oatmeal ever - and you can enjoy it on the go! Whole grain oats, rye, barley and wheat are mixed with large chunks of real fruit & nuts in a convenient single-serve cup. Just add hot water or microwave and you can have a delicious breakfast anytime, anywhere.
My Thoughts: I apologize for such a dark photo but it was really early in the morning. It was around 5:30am to be exact. I kind of wanted a snack so I was like "Why the frig not? I have this lying around," So I had the one in summer berry and the ingredients are whole grain oats, rye, barley, and wheat. It also has whole fruits in it.
When I first took off the cover and gave it a sniff, it actually reminded me of sugar cereal. Which I thought was very interesting since I did not expect that, at all. I take off the covering and I see a bunch of white all over the instant oatmeal. I then took a freeze dried berry and I popped it into my mouth. For sure then and there I realized that this had white sugar all over it. Because honestly real whole fruits don't taste like powdered sugar. This also looked a whole lot like ramen because of the freeze dried fruits that were sitting on top of the oatmeal. The berries were dried and they reminded me of the "vegetables" in instant ramen. So to me this was the oatmeal equivalent to instant ramen. I used boiling hot water, let it "cook" for a few minutes, stirred it around. The oatmeal really didn't look appetizing and so I added milk into the instant oatmeal. Let that "cook" some more and then I tasted it. The milk definitely made it taste better but to be honest I don't like instant, freezer, on the go meals. The idea of premade instant meals make me uneasy and to me instant food aren't real food.
I'm the type of person that really enjoys a sit down home cooked meal. I'm not used to eating instant food and I truly don't enjoy it. I put it in the same category as fast food and I hate fast food. But if I had to choice between fast food and instant oatmeal, I'll choose the instant oatmeal. If you're a person that already eats a ton of instant, freezer, fast food meals then this is for you.
This just wasn't my cup of tea so I wouldn't ever waste my money on this and I won't purchase this in the future.
